New Comedy Trailers: Bob Saget's Final Film Role in "Daniel's Gotta Die' and Amy Schumer Fakes Motherhood in Netflix's "Kinda Pregnant"
The Late, Bob Saget Stars in a Twisted Family Inheritance Comedy "Daniel's Gotta Die" with Joel David Moore, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Carly Chaikin, and Iggy Pop
To say the news of comedian and TV star Bob Saget's untimely death was shocking doesn't fully capture how we felt at the time. For many who grew up watching episodes of the classic sitcom Full House, Saget embodied the ideal family man and father. But for those familiar with his stand-up, they knew Saget had a wicked, devilish sense of humor. So, it makes perfect sense that for his final film role, he plays a man attempting to cheat his way into stealing a family's fortune.
In Daniel's Gotta Die, Saget is among a group of so-called grieving family members who have just learned that the matriarch of a very wealthy family has passed away. In his will, he left his vast fortune to his children and loved ones—however, there’s a stipulation. Each of his children, as spoiled and entitled as they are, must spend one weekend together. If they don’t adhere to the rules, the entire family estate will go to Daniel, the favorite son. To his chagrin, Daniel, who was actually looking forward to the weekend, soon discovers that his siblings and relatives are now plotting for his death.
Canadian comedian/filmmaker Jeremy Lalonde (How to Plan an Orgy in a Small Town) directs the film, which features a strong ensemble including the late, great Bob Saget, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Carly Chaikin, Jason Jones, and Chantel Riley, with Joel David Moore as the unfortunate Daniel and rock legend Iggy Pop as the recently departed rich matriarch.
Daniel's Gotta Die hits theaters and VOD on Feb. 21.
Amy Schumer Catches Baby Fever and Fakes Motherhood in Trailer for Netflix’s New Comedy "Kinda Pregnant"
Amy Schumer has caught baby fever—but there's one problem: she's not pregnant. But damn these rules! Who says you need to be actually pregnant to enjoy the perks of motherhood? Much like her character in Trainwreck, Schumer plays a hot mess of a woman who fakes her pregnancy, complete with a fake baby bump made out of a pillow, in order to bond with a group of real pregnant women navigating the challenges of motherhood in this new Netflix comedy, Kinda Pregnant.
Directed by Tyler Spindel (The Wrong Missy, Father of the Year, The Out-Laws) and written by Julie Paiva, with Schumer herself serving as a producer alongside Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions, this Netflix original also boasts a strong supporting cast of comedians, including Jillian Bell, Will Forte, Damon Wayans Jr., Brianne Howey, Chris Geere, Alex Moffat, Joel David Moore, Lizze Broadway, Francis Benhamou, and South African-New Zealand comedian Urzila Carlson, who plays Amy's no-nonsense friend with a mouth sounding like a truck driver (not saying that's a bad thing).
Kinda Pregnant arrives on Netflix on February 5th.
