Watch the First Look Trailer for Netflix's New Argentine Post-Apocalyptic Sci-Fi Series "The Eternaut," Starring Ricardo Darin
Check out the official first-look teaser for "The Eternaut," Netflix's forthcoming Argentine post-apocalyptic sci-fi series based on the Eisner Award–winning graphic novel of the same name.
Comprising six episodes, this Spanish-language series is set in the near future, following a catastrophic toxic snowfall that has plunged the world into decline. The story follows a group of survivors who don gas masks and protective gear to battle a possible alien threat in the form of an increasingly violent unseen force.
Acclaimed Argentine actor Ricardo Darin (The Secret in Their Eyes, Argentina 1985) stars as Juan Salvo, one of the survivors who rises to become the leader of the resistance against the unseen threat. The cast also includes Carla Peterson, Cesar Troncoso, Andrea Pietra, Ariel Staltari, Marcelo Subiotto, Claudio Martinez Bel, Orianna Cardenas, and Mora Fisz.
The series is created and directed by Bruno Stagnaro (Okupas) and co-written by Stagnaro and writer-actor Ariel Staltari (Un Gallo para Esculapio). It is based on the classic Argentinian graphic novel by Hector German Oesterheld, illustrated by Francisco Solano Lopez. The comic was originally published in installments from 1957 to 1959 and later released as a single volume in 2015.
"The Eternaut" will be coming to Netflix in 2025.
