World-renowned Italian filmmaker Paolo Sorrentino, known for his Oscar-winning Foreign Language Film "The Great Beauty," frequently delivers sharp satirical looks of Italy's elite society. This time, he returns with a romantic examination of Italian culture, set against the stunning Mediterranean backdrop of Naples.

The film revolves around Parthenope, an older Italian woman who reflects on her sense of identity while revisiting her life in her hometown of Naples. Through her memories of long, formative summers, she rediscovers her deep connection to the city where she learned and experienced so much.
Veteran Italian actress Stefania Sandrelli, celebrated for her iconic performances in classic Italian films like "Divorce Italian Style" and "La terrazza," takes on the role of the older Parthenope. Meanwhile, the younger Parthenope is portrayed by rising talent Celeste Dalla Porta, known for appearing the Italian miniseries "Red Mirror."
Written and directed by Sorrentino, "Parthenope" is coming to U.S. theaters on February 7th, courtesy of A24 Films.
