"MobLand" Trailer: Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, and Pierce Brosnan Rule a Ruthless British Crime Syndicate in Guy Ritchie's New Gangster Series
Guy Ritchie brings his signature gangster style to Paramount+ with a new high-stakes crime saga starring Tom Hardy as a fixer caught in a deadly mob war.
Paramount+, a streaming service mostly known for its Taylor Sheridan original shows, has seen a bit of growth lately, thanks in no small part to the many Yellowstone spinoffs that have become massive rating hits for the platform. One could argue it’s the house that Taylor built. But with success comes the attraction of some heavy hitters looking to join in on the fun.
Enter, Guy Ritchie!
The hyperkinetic British filmmaker, known for his gritty, gung-ho London-based gangster flicks, recently enjoyed turning his 2019 crime film The Gentlemen into a hit Netflix series last year. Now, Ritchie is switching streaming services, teaming up with Paramount+ for a new British crime series called MobLand.
And it has all the hallmarks of an awesome Guy Ritchie gangster yarn: larger-than-life characters, razor-sharp dialogue, dynamic visuals, volatile energy, and a star-studded cast led by Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, and Pierce Brosnan.
Well, hey! That might just be enough to make you start hunting for that free trial right about now. But before you commit, why not check out the first official trailer for MobLand? See if this is the kind of show that not only grabs your attention but also has you digging into your pockets for yet another streaming subscription.
According to the show's official logline: MobLand features Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Paddy Considine, and Joanne Froggatt as "an organized crime family, fighting for power within a global crime syndicate."
Created by Irish producer-writer Ronan Bennett (Top Boy, Gunpowder, and Peacock's The Day of the Jackal), who also executive produces the show alongside Guy Ritchie—who directs the first two episodes—MobLand was initially developed years ago as a spinoff to Showtime's long-running Ray Donovan series, essentially a British version of that show. However, with Ritchie coming on board and adding his signature flair to the project, the series has now evolved into a standalone crime saga with its own world and rules.
Here, Tom Hardy stars as Harry Da Souza, a ruthless fixer for the powerful Harrigan crime family, led by none other than Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan. When things get messy and require a professional touch, Harry is the man they call to clean it up—no questions asked. But when a mob war erupts, Harry finds his loyalties tested in ways he never expected, forcing him to choose between his own survival and the only family he’s ever known.
So, whether you're a sucker for British crime sagas or just looking to see if Hardy’s back in his own element, MobLand might just be the ‘fixer’ your streaming lineup needs right now.
MobLand is slated to debut globally on Paramount+ starting on Sunday, March 30th. Watch the trailer, above.
