Edward Burns Explores Midlife Love, Marriage, and Regret in "Millers in Marriage" Trailer with Minnie Driver, Morena Baccarin, Benjamin Bratt, and Julianna Margulies
Edward Burns Writes, Directs, and Co-Stars in this Intimate Drama About Three Middle-Aged Couples Navigating Life’s Second Act, with Morena Baccarin, Benjamin Bratt, Minnie Driver, Julianna Margulies,
When filmmaker/actor Edward Burns debuted with his feature The Brothers McMullen, it was during the 1990s, at the peak of the indie film movement. There was a clear market for low-budget dramas exploring family dynamics and personal relationships—small stakes but high drama. Over the years, that indie film market has shrunk considerably, but Burns continues to forge ahead, staying true to his passion for deeply personal stories about family, marriage, failures, and successes.
Burns has assembled an impressive ensemble for his latest film, Millers in Marriage, for which the official trailer has been released. In this new intimate drama, Burns stars alongside Morena Baccarin (Deadpool), Benjamin Bratt (Miss Congeniality), Brian d’Arcy James (Spotlight), Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting), Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife), Gretchen Mol (Yellowstone), Campbell Scott (Jurassic World Dominion), and Patrick Wilson (Aquaman). The film explores three middle-aged married couples as they cope with life's ups and downs, grappling with the realization that they've crossed into the second act of their lives.
Burns co-stars, writes, and directs Millers in Marriage, marking his 14th feature film and his first since 2019's Beneath the Blue Suburban Skies. While Burns is arguably better known as an actor for his roles in films such as Saving Private Ryan, 27 Dresses, and The Holiday, he spent the last couple of years producing and showrunning the short-lived early 1980s-set dramedy series Bridge and Tunnel, loosely inspired by his upbringing in Long Island, New York. The show lasted for two seasons on the now-defunct network EPIX, which has since been turned into MGM+.
Millers in Marriage is slated to open in theaters on February 21st. It will also be made available on digital platforms on the same date.
