Legendary Academy Award-winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese draws from his religious background -- having once aspired to become a priest in his youth -- to explore various stories surrounding historical saints in this new eight-part cinematic and documentary hybrid.

Check out the official trailer for Martin Scorsese Presents: "The Saints," a series that blends high-quality cinematic reenactments featuring actors portraying famous historical figures with documentary narratives to dramatize the true life stories of some of the world's most renowned saints, including John the Baptist, Mary Magdalene, Saint Sebastian, Moses the Black, Thomas Becket, Francis of Assisi, Joan of Arc, and Maximilian Kolbe.

Famed filmmaker Martin Scorsese, known for classic films like "Goodfellas," "Taxi Driver," "The Last Temptation of Christ," "The Departed," and most recently "Killers of the Flower Moon," serves as executive producer and narrator for this new historical series, debuting this month on the FOX News-related channel, Fox Nation.

Featuring a cast of international actors including Liah O'Prey, Dar Zuzovsky, Jadran Malkovich, Corrado Invernizzi, Jamie Ward, Lorenzo de Moor, Tommaso Basili, and Jeremy Gillet, "The Saints" is created by acclaimed producer Matti Leshem ("HBO's The Survivor," "The Shallows").
