Ana de Armas Seeks Vengeance in Upcoming 'John Wick' Spin-Off, "Ballerina" with Anjelica Huston, Norman Reedus, Ian McShane, and Keanu Reeves - Watch the Trailer!
Ana de Armas stars as one of the deadliest ballerinas in the upcoming "John Wick" spin-off, set between the events of "John Wick: Chapter 3" and "Chapter 4." Check out the first official trailer for "From the World of John Wick: Ballerina."
In the John Wick universe, tattooed ballerinas are also expertly trained assassins, a concept first introduced in "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum." De Armas, known for her roles in films like "Knives Out," "Blade Runner 2049," and "No Time to Die," stars as Rooney, a ballerina-assassin seeking revenge on those responsible for the murder of her entire family. She finds herself under the protection of Winston (played by franchise regular Ian McShane) and Charon (played by the late Lance Reddick) at the New York Continental Hotel, a neutral ground that serves as a safe haven for professional assassins.
Gabriel Byrne co-stars as the film's main antagonist, a ruthless mob boss who has unleashed an army of assassins after ballerina Rooney. Anjelica Huston reprises her role from "Chapter 3 - Parabellum" as "the Director." Keanu Reeves also makes a guest appearance as the unstoppable assassin John Wick. The cast is rounded out by Catalina Sandino Moreno, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, David Castaneda, and Norman Reedus.
The upcoming spin-off is directed by Len Wiseman, the director and producer of the "Underworld" film franchise. Screenwriter Shay Hatten (John Wick: Chapter 3 and 4, Army of the Dead, Rebel Moon) penned the script.
"From the World of John Wick: Ballerina" is slated to open in theaters next summer on June 6, 2025.
