Evans teams up with British actor Tom Hardy, who, after playing journalist-turned-alien symbiote host Eddie Brock in the Venom films, gets to tackle yet another gravelly American accent—this time as a big-city detective with a shady past.
In Havoc, another bone-crushing, action-heavy spectacle from Evans, Hardy’s detective finds himself racing against time to rescue a politician’s estranged son, all while spiraling down a path of death and destruction as local mob gangs, corrupt cops, and dirty politicians collide in a powder keg of chaos.
Joining Hardy in the mayhem is a cast of impressive talents, including Jessie Mei Li (Shadow and Bone), Justin Cornwell (The Umbrella Academy), Quelin Sepulveda (Good Omens), Luis Guzmán (Wednesday), Michelle Waterson-Gomez (The Cleaning Lady), Xelia Mendes-Jones (Fallout), Yeo Yann Yann (Wet Season), Timothy Olyphant (Justified), and Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker.
Writer-director-producer Gareth Evans is once again working with Netflix, following his 2018 Gothic folk horror thriller Apostle. Evans has spent the last couple of years working on his British crime series Gangs of London, which will be going into its third season in March in the U.K. Havoc marks Evans's return to feature films since Apostle.
Havoc is set to premiere on Netflix starting on April 25th.
