"Fountain of Youth" Trailer: John Krasinski and Natalie Portman Embark on a Thrilling Global Hunt for Immortality in Guy Ritchie's Latest Action-Adventure with Eiza González and Domhnall Gleeson
Krasinski and Portman star as siblings on a global quest for the mythical Fountain of Youth in this action-packed, treasure-hunting thriller.
It’s interesting. The idea of searching for a mythical fountain, where anyone who drinks from it or bathes in its waters will magically restore their youth or gain immortality, has been the genesis of fascination and ancient stories for ages. Who wouldn't want to live a little longer or return to the days of their youth to feel energetic and agile again? This concept of gaining eternal youth has been a source of inspiration for countless movies, television shows, and books.
So, it was only a matter of time before the Fountain of Youth would once again become the basis of a new film. And now, filmmaker Guy Ritchie steps up to the plate. But it seems he's less interested in the fountain’s mythology than he is in the pursuit of such a treasure, focusing more on the high adventure of the chase.
Ritchie just might be one of the busiest directors in Hollywood these days, having finished a Netflix series last year based on his 2019 crime film The Gentlemen, and more recently launching a new London gangster series on Paramount+ called MobLand, starring Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren. Not to mention his film work, completing three features in the last two years: Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, Guy Ritchie's The Covenant, and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Ritchie may not have found the Fountain of Youth, but he has certainly found a new gear at this stage of his career.
In the upcoming action-adventure film Fountain of Youth, Ritchie has rounded up an impressive ensemble cast led by John Krasinski and Natalie Portman as two estranged siblings who reunite to lead a team of tech experts, historians, and thrill-seekers on a high-stakes mission to locate the fabled Fountain of Youth. The team soon finds themselves jetting across the globe in a madcap caper, where ancient text, clues, and artifacts point them to what they believe is the true location of this mythical wellspring that just might possess the power to grant immortality.
Think Indiana Jones meets The Da Vinci Code, and they have a three-way with National Treasure, with Pirates of the Caribbean peeking in, all while Ritchie calls the shots. That will give you an idea of the movie. Or, you can just check out this newly released trailer, watch it above.
Costarring Eiza González, Domhnall Gleeson, Carmen Ejogo, with Laz Alonso, Arian Moayed, and Stanley Tucci, the film is written by James Vanderbilt, the acclaimed writer of Zodiac and White House Down.
Produced by Skydance Media, Fountain of Youth will be premiering Friday, May 23rd, exclusively on Apple TV+.
