Check out the first official trailer for the new family-friendly animated comedy "Dog Man," based on the best-selling children's graphic novel series of the same name by "Captain Underpants" creator Dav Pilkey.
From DreamWorks Animation, the studio behind beloved animated blockbuster franchises like "Kung Fu Panda," "How to Train Your Dragon," and "The Boss Baby," the upcoming film centers on "Dog Man," a part canine, part human police officer who is sworn to protect and serve... while also mastering the art of fetch, sit, and roll over. He is his own best friend!
"Dog Man" is a spin-off and part of the "Captain Underpants" franchise. The voice cast is led by comedian Lil Rel Howery (Get Out, Free Guy) as the Police Chief, former SNL comedian Pete Davidson as Petey the Cat, Dog Man's archenemy, Isla Fisher (Wedding Crashers) as TV reporter Sarah Hatoff, Poppy Liu (Hacks) as Butler, Petey's assistant, Stephen Root (Barry) as Grampa, Billy Boyd (the Lord of the Rings franchise) as Seamus, Sarah's cameraman, and Ricky Gervais (The Office, Extras) as Flippy the Fish.
"Dog Man" is directed by Emmy-winning animation producer, writer, and story editor Peter Hastings ("The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants," "Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness," "Animaniacs," and "Pinky and the Brain"). The film is set to open in theaters early next year, starting on January 31, 2025.
