Jack Quaid & Sophie Thatcher Explore the Dark Side of Love in Teaser Trailer for New Horror Thriller "Companion" From the Producers of 'Barbarian'
There are love stories in films like "The Notebook" that are heartfelt, beautiful, deeply moving, and often agonizing. This film, however, embraces the whole agonizing part to tell a twisted love story about a young man who can't seem to let go of the one he loves -- mainly because he has cuffed her to a chair.
Check out the first official teaser trailer for "Companion," a new twisted romantic thriller from the producers of the hit horror movie "Barbarian."
Jack Quaid, from Amazon's "The Boys," and Sophie Thatcher, from Showtime's "Yellowjackets," star as a couple in a toxic relationship that quickly escalates from emotionally poisonous to seriously deadly. They lead a strong supporting cast that includes Lukas Gage (The White Lotus: Season 1), Megan Suri (It Lives Inside), Harvey Guillen (What We Do in the Shadows), and Rupert Friend (Homeland).
The film is written and directed by Drew Hancock, best known as a television comedy writer who has worked on shows like "Suburgatory," "My Dead Ex," and "Blue Mountain State." Hancock also served as a segment director for "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," the 2008 Spike Video Game Awards, and the 2007 sketch show "Acceptable TV." This film marks Hancock's feature directorial debut.
"Companion" is produced by comic actor-turned-horror filmmaker Zach Cregger, alongside producer Roy Lee and his producing partner Raphael Margules, the same team behind "Barbarian."
"Companion" is slated to open in theaters on January 10th.
