Billy Zane Transforms into Marlon Brando in Trailer for "Waltzing with Brando," New Biopic About the Actor's Dream of Creating a Polynesian Paradise
When actors portray famous figures, they often aim for an authentic impersonation rather than mere imitation. Billy Zane seems to have found the perfect balance in his latest film, transforming himself completely into Hollywood legend Marlon Brando in this new biographical dramedy, which explores Brando's ambitious attempt to turn a remote Tahitian island into his own ecologically ideal paradise. Check out the official trailer for "Waltzing with Brando," also featuring "Napoleon Dynamite" star Jon Heder.
Based on the memoir "Waltzing with Brando: Planning a Paradise in Tahiti" by architect Bernard Judge, the film delves into Marlon Brando's life in the early 1970s, between his iconic roles in "The Godfather" and "Last Tango in Paris."
Heder portrays Los Angeles architect Bernard Judge, who is enlisted to design a state-of-the-art geodesic dome on Brando's private island in Tahiti, as the movie star seeks to create his own Polynesian paradise. However, things go awry when Brando's ambition becomes overwhelming, and Judge, struggling to keep up with the actor's demands, finds himself buried under Brando's grand vision of utopia.
Co-starring Richard Dreyfuss, Tia Carrere, Rob Corddry, and James Jagger, the film is written and directed by Bill Fishman, a veteran music video director known for his cult 1988 indie comedy "Tapeheads," featuring Tim Robbins and John Cusack.
"Waltzing with Brando" is coming soon.
