"Paddington" has become one of the most beloved family movie franchises in recent years, and now that lovable bear is back with his third installment -- this time returning to his home country of Peru. Check out the official U.S. trailer for the upcoming sequel "Paddington in Peru," where Ben Whishaw reprises his role as the voice of Paddington Brown, the Peruvian talking bear known for his love of marmalade sandwiches, complete with his iconic floppy red hat and blue coat.
In this new chapter of the successful film series based on the classic "Paddington Bear" children's books by British author Michael Bond, Paddington and the Brown family travel to Peru. There, they embark on an exciting adventure through the Amazon jungle in search of Paddington's beloved Aunt Lucy (voiced by Imelda Staunton), who is on a mysterious mission deep in the rainforest.
Hugh Bonneville returns as Henry Brown, while Emily Mortimer takes over the role of Mary Brown, stepping in for Sally Hawkins. New to the franchise are Olivia Colman and Antonio Banderas, with Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin, Julie Walters, and Jim Broadbent also part of the cast.
Dougal Wilson, an acclaimed British commercial and music video director known for Coldplay's Grammy Award-nominated "Life in Technicolor II" music video, makes his feature directorial debut with "Paddington in Peru." He takes the reins from filmmaker Paul King, who left the film series to direct the hit musical "Wonka."
"Paddington in Peru" is set to premiere in the U.K. in November and will open in U.S. theaters on January 17th. Watch the U.S. trailer above.
