Neil Patrick Harris can't wait to get his hands on those Baudelaire children.

Check out a new teaser trailer for Netflix's forthcoming adaptation of Lemony Snicket's best-selling children's book series "A Series of Unfortunate Events," which offers the first glimpse of the "How I Met Your Mother" star as the diabolical Count Olaf.

The series, developed by TV producer Mark Hudis (Nurse Jackie, That '70s Show, True Blood) and executive produced by "Men in Black" director Barry Sonnenfeld and author/creator Daniel Handler, centers on three young orphan siblings, the Baudelaire children, who begin to suspect their eccentric and evil uncle, Count Olaf, is trying to steal their inheritance.

Malina Weissman (Nine Lives, TV's Supergirl) and newcomer Louis Hynes have been cast as Violet and Klaus Baudelaire. While other cast members include Joan Cusack, Bernadette Peters, Aasif Mandvi, and K. Todd Freeman.

Sonnenfeld directs the first two episodes of the eight-part series, which is set to premiere on January 13, 2017, only on Netflix.

The siblings must outsmart Olaf at every turn, foiling his many devious plans and disguises, in order to discover clues to their parents' mysterious death.
