You know the old saying, once an addict, always an addict. But maybe this time is different. Maybe those crazy Scotish heroin junkies have cleaned up their act by now? Or maybe they just got addicted to something else?

Okay, are you ready to "choose life" again? Well, then go ahead and check out the official trailer for Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle's long-awaited sequel to his 1996 drug-addiction classic, in which the old "Trainspotting" gang -- Mark "Rent Boy" Renton (Ewan McGregor), Simon "Sick Boy" Williamson (Jonny Lee Miller), Daniel "Spud" Murphy (Ewen Bremner), and Francis "Franco" Begbie (Robert Carlyle) -- is reunited after 20 years of being apart.

The forthcoming film follows a now 40-something Renton (McGregor) as he returns to his hometown of Edinburgh where he's forced to reevaluate his life after quickly falling back into old, self-destructive habits.

Also featuring an appearance by Kelly Macdonald as Renton's old flame, Diane, "T2 Trainspotting" will first open in the UK on January 27, 2017, before arriving in the States in select theaters on February 3; with a nationwide rollout to follow on February 10.

First there was an opportunity ... then there was a betrayal.

Twenty years have gone by. Much has changed but just as much remains the same. Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor) returns to the only place he can ever call home.

They are waiting for him: Spud (Ewen Bremner), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller), and Begbie (Robert Carlyle). Other old friends are waiting too: sorrow, loss, joy, vengeance, hatred, friendship, love, longing, fear, regret, diamorphine, self-destruction and mortal danger, they are all lined up to welcome him, ready to join the dance.
