Former "Twilight" star Taylor Lautner flexes his dramatic muscles as an emotionally wounded man trying to keep his younger brother away from their ex-drug addicted (recently released from prison) mother in the newly unveiled trailer for "Run the Tide."

Also starring recent Emmy-nominee Constance Zimmer (UnREAL), former "The Shield" actor Kenny Johnson, Quantico's Johanna Braddy and newcomer Nico Christou, the tense dysfunctional-family drama comes from first-time feature director Soham Mehta.

"Run the Tide" marks a change in tone for Lautner, who currently co-stars in FOX's horror-comedy series "Scream Queens" and was previously seen in Adam Sandler's western comedy for Netflix, "The Ridiculous 6."

Written by Rajiv Shah, the film will be released in select theaters on December 2.

synopsis:
When their drug abusing mother is released from prison determined to rebuild their family, Rey kidnaps his younger brother Oliver and escapes their desert home for the California coast.
