It's been almost 15 years since we last saw Vin Diesel as former extreme stuntman-turned-super-spy agent Xander Cage. But "xXx" fans can rest assured that, despite the long break, Diesel's thrill-seeking hero has not lost his appetite for danger ... or his penchant for life-threatening heroics.

Check out the just-released full-length trailer for the much-awaited Diesel-starring action sequel "xXx: Return of Xander Cage," which also sees the return of Samuel L. Jackson as NSA Agent Augustus Eugene Gibbons.

The film is actually the third entry in the franchise but features Xander Cage's first appearance since the 2002 original. Cage, a once professional extreme sports athlete but now a government operative, is once again called back into action. This time around, he's been given a new role as team leader of an elite unit of highly-skilled (and completely insane) thrill-seekers tasked with keeping the world safe from any immediate threats.

In addition to Diesel and Jackson, the film features an all-star international cast that includes Toni Collette, Hong Kong actor star Donnie Yen, Nina Dobrev (Vampire Diaries), Ruby Rose (Orange Is the New Black), Rory McCann (Game of Thrones), Bollywood star Deepika Padukone, Hermione Corfield (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies), Chinese actor Kris Wu (The Mermaid), English UFC star Michael Bisping, Colombian model-actress Ariadna Gutierrez and Thai martial arts star Tony Jaa (Ong-bak).

Directed by D.J. Caruso (Disturbia, Eagle Eye, I Am Number Four), "xXx: Return of Xander Cage" is slated for a worldwide release on January 20, 2017.

After a near-death experience, government agent Xander Cage (Vin Diesel) embarks on another lethal mission in this action-packed sequel to the 2002 film xXx. Cage's latest task involves locating a deadly weapon, with this help of his handler Augustus Eugene Gibbons (Samuel L. Jackson).
