Jason Momoa wants his money in the trailer for "Sugar Mountain," an Alaskan-set crime thriller about a hoax that goes terribly wrong.

The "Aquaman" actor plays a menacing Alaskan loan shark who threatens a couple of local fishermen brothers -- played by Drew Roy (TV's Falling Skies) and Shane Coffey (TV's Pretty Little Liars) -- to pay up their 10,000-dollar debt. But as the deadline nears, the two financially strapped brothers decide to do something drastic and dumb -- fake a disappearance in the Alaskan wilderness in the hopes of selling their phony harrowing story to the press.

Also starring Haley Webb (TV's Teen Wolf), Anna Hutchison (The Cabin in the Woods), and Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride) as the town's not-so-easily-convinced sheriff, the film is directed and produced by indie filmmaker Richard Gray (The Lookalike).

"Sugar Mountain" is coming to theaters and VOD on December 9.

synopsis:
Deep in debt to a local thug (Jason Momoa), Miles persuades his girlfriend Lauren and brother Liam to help fake a disappearance in the Alaskan wilderness. While the town works together to find Miles, the local sheriff (Cary Elwes) begins to suspect foul play. As he closes in on the truth, Liam struggles to conceal the hoax, and in the process exposes a secret that rocks him and Lauren to the core. Now the two are struggling to stay one step ahead of a sadistic thug and the tenacious cops before Miles is gone for good.
