"Scream Queens" star Diego Boneta is plagued by nightmarish visions in the trailer for the indie horror thriller "City of Dead Men."

Also starring "Twilight" actor Jackson Rathbone and newcomer Maria Mesa, the film casts Boneta as an American traveler, named Michael, who is backpacking through South America when he joins a skateboarding group of homeless runaways, led by charismatic ringleader Jacob (Rathbone). While staying at an abandoned psychiatric hospital, Michael starts to encounter scary apparitions of dead children, namely his newly-deceased kid brother.

Directed by first-time feature filmmaker Kirk Sullivan, "City of Dead Men" is hitting theaters and VOD on December 16.

synopsis:
When Michael (Diego Boneta), a young American tourist running away from his own demons, arrives in Medellin, Colombia, after a long journey throughout South America, he realizes he's gone through all of his money and must resolve the situation soon. Then he meets Melody (Maria Mesa), a pretty Colombian girl who knows the city well and hooks him up with a group of young misfits led by the mysterious Jacob (Jackson Rathbone). The intoxicating group lives in an abandoned psychiatric hospital for children on the outskirts of the city and when they offer Michael their friendship and shelter - he quickly accepts. But slowly, Michael begins to sense the horror that went on in the hospital and feels the energy permeating the premises.
