Widely known as "The Holodomor" of 1932-1933, the Famine-Genocide in Ukraine took the lives of millions of Ukrainians during Stalin's reign of terror. This tragic event is at the center of the upcoming sweeping historical drama "Bitter Harvest," starring Max Irons (The Host) and Samantha Barks (Les Miserables) as a young Ukrainian couple torn apart by the upheaval of war and devastating starvation.

The feature film, also starring Terence Stamp, Barry Pepper, Aneurin Barnard, Tamer Hassan and "Game of Thrones" actor Gary Oliver as Joseph Stalin, is directed, co-written, and produced by German-born Canadian-Ukrainian TV director George Mendeluk, whose directing credits include episodes of "Lonesome Dove: The Series," "Night Heat" and "Miami Vice."
