HBO has unveiled the very first teaser trailer for "Big Little Lies," the new limited series starring Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, and Shailene Woodley.
The seven-episode drama is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by author Liane Moriarty. And it centers on three mothers (played by Witherspoon, Kidman, and Woodley), who are socially connected due to their kindergarten-age children. While living in a sleepy beachside community, the women's complicated lives are forever changed by a tragic event that appears to involve the murder of someone they knew.
Alexander Skarsgard, Zoe Kravitz, Laura Dern, and Adam Scott also star.
Developed and written by TV mega-producer David E. Kelley (Ally McBeal, Boston Legal), the HBO limited drama marks the first TV venture for "Dallas Buyers Club" and "Wild" director Jean-Marc Vallee, who is helming all seven episodes. Vallee is also serving as an executive producer, alongside Kelley, Witherspoon, and Kidman.
"Big Little Lies" is currently scheduled for a February 2017 premiere.
