As a civilized society, are we willing to sacrifice our individual freedoms today for the promise of a better tomorrow? That's the provocative question being posed in the new international trailer for the forthcoming dystopian thriller "The White King."

Starring Jonathan Pryce (Game of Thrones), Agyness Deyn (Sunset Song), Ross Partridge (Stranger Things), Fiona Shaw (Harry Potter), and newcomer Lorenzo Allchurch, "The White King" is the big-screen adaptation of the international best-selling novel by Hungarian author Gyorgy Dragoman, about a precocious 12-year-old boy named Djata (Allchurch), who is struggling to understand the totalitarian nature of his Orwellian society after his father (Partridge) is falsely imprisoned and mother (Deyn) is shunned by the political establishment.

The film is the feature writing, directing, and producing debut of filmmaking couple Alex Helfrecht and Jorg Tittel.

After premiering back in June at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, "The White King" is now slated to be released in the UK in January 2017. As of yet, the film doesn't have a U.S. release date.
