Ruth Wilson, the Golden Globe-winning actress of Showtime's critically acclaimed series "The Affair," finds herself trapped inside a house of horrors in the trailer for the new Kubrickian thriller "I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House."

Written and directed by Oz Perkins (of the yet-to-be-release horror thriller "The Blackcoat's Daughter"), the spooky film sees Wilson as a home-care nurse who, after being hired to care for an elderly woman (played by 78-year-old actress Paula Prentiss, of "The Stepford Wives") at her New England estate, uncovers her patient's dark past and her former life as a 1960s horror novelist.

Co-starring Bob Balaban (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Lucy Boynton (Sing Street), and Erin Boyes (Married Life), the film will premiere on Netflix at the end of this month, starting Friday, October 28; just in time for Halloween.

synopsis:
A young nurse, Lily (Ruth Wilson), moves in to a secluded old house to care for an elderly, reclusive horror novelist. But it seems the pair is not entirely alone.
