This holiday season, prepare to "face your fears" and let yourself feel every bit of emotion because the visually striking fantasy drama from acclaimed Spanish director Juan Antonio Bayona (The Impossible, The Orphanage) is aiming to unleash the angst-ridden monster in all of us.

Check out a new montage trailer for "A Monster Calls," Bayona's upcoming adaptation of the award-winning children's fantasy novel of the same name, which centers on an unhappy, 12-year-old boy who copes with his mother's cancer battle by calling upon the protective tree monster from his bedtime stories.

The film stars newcomer Lewis MacDougall as young Conor, Felicity Jones (Rogue One) as Conor's mother, Toby Kebbell (Fantastic Four) as Conor's father, Sigourney Weaver as Conor's grandmother, and Liam Neeson as the voice of Conor's monster.

Critically acclaimed author Patrick Ness adapted the screenplay from his own book, which was inspired by an original idea from award-winning novelist Siobhan Dowd, who sadly passed away from breast cancer before she could finish the manuscript.

"A Monster Calls" premiered to glowing reviews last month at the Toronto International Film Festival. The movie was originally set to open this month, in October, but has since been pushed back to a more Oscar-friendly release date, December 23; expanding to a wider release in January.
