Jamie Foxx is trying to save his kidnapped son in the newly released trailer for the gritty Las Vegas-set cop thriller "Sleepless," which also stars Michelle Monaghan, David Harbour, Scoot McNairy, Gabrielle Union and T.I.

Based on the 2011 French thriller "Sleepless Night (Nuit blanche)," the upcoming remake sees Foxx as a crooked undercover cop who steals a large stash of drugs belonging to a mob-connected maniac (McNairy). In retaliation, Foxx's teenage son is brutally abducted and taken hostage. To have his son returned home alive and safe, Foxx must give back what he has stolen before the night is through. But things take a complicated turn when he learns that a couple of Internal Affairs officers (played by Monaghan and Harbour) are looking into his shady past while watching his every move.

Swiss-born filmmaker Baran bo Odar, who previously helmed the acclaimed Germany hacker thriller "Who Am I" and the Germany mystery crime thriller "The Silence," is making his English-language debut with "Sleepless," which was penned by Andrea Berloff, the Oscar-nominated co-screenwriter of "Straight Outta Compton."

"Sleepless," which co-stars Dermot Mulroney and Octavius J. Johnson, will arrive in theaters early next year.
