Jack Reacher sometimes just wants to reach out and touch someone -- and that someone is gonna have his arm ripped out and beaten to death with it. Check out a new IMAX trailer for the action sequel "Jack Reacher: Never Go Back," where Tom Cruise returns to crack some skulls and break a few legs.

This time around, Reacher is called in by a falsely accused Captain (played by Cobie Smulders) to investigate a military conspiracy that concerns former members of his army unit and a 16-year-old homicide which is now being pinned on Reacher himself.

Based on author Lee Child's best-selling book series, "Jack Reacher: Never Go Back," and directed by "The Last Samurai" helmer Edward Zwick, the film opens wide in theaters on October 21st.

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back follows the title character as he returns to Virginia to meet the head of his former unit. But she's missing, he's being charged with a crime committed nearly 20 years ago, and he may even have a daughter. Making things right will lead him on a cross-country chase to uncover the truth -- and maybe even a family.
