Check out the newly released trailer for "Slash," the coming-of-age indie comedy about a science-fiction geek and aspiring sci-fi writer (Teen Wolf's Michael Johnston), who develops a budding friendship with a fellow high school misfit (Amazing Spider-Man's Hannah Marks) after learning they both share a love for writing sexually explicit fan fiction.

Written and directed by indie cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Clay Liford (Wuss) and based on his 2012 short film of the same name, "Slash" also stars Michael Ian Black, Missi Pyle, and John Ennis.

"Slash" had spent the last couple of months on the festival circuit, including screenings at SXSW, Outfest, and FanTasia, where it garnered mostly positive reviews. The film is now scheduled to hit theaters December 11th.

synopsis:
Neil is a questioning high school freshman whose main social outlet is the steamy erotic fan fiction he writes about Vanguard, the brawny, galaxy-hopping hero of a popular sci-fi franchise. When Neil's stories are exposed in class he is mortified, but the effortlessly-cool Julia comes to his defense. An erotic fan fic writer herself, Julia pushes Neil to publish his stories to an online "adult" forum, where they quickly grab the attention of the site moderator, Denis. When Neil is invited to present his work at a comic con live-read event, he must face the fact that Denis' interest in him may be more than simply professional... perhaps like his own feelings for Julia.
