CW has released a brand-new extended trailer for Season Five of the hit DC Comics-based action series "Arrow," about a masked and green hooded vigilante who uses his bow-and-arrow skills (as well as some strong karate chops) to strike fear in the hearts of the city's most dangerous criminals.

The new season will find Oliver Queen a.k.a. "The Green Arrow" (Stephen Amell) back patrolling the streets of Starling City as he recruits a new team of inexperienced yet promising crime-fighters, namely Evelyn Sharp (Madison McLaughlin), Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez), and go-to gadget genius Curtis (Echo Kellum).

The all-new team Arrow will face an all-new main villain, Tobias Church (played by former "Walking Dead" star Chad L. Coleman). But Church is not the only one to fear this season, as the new episodes will be chronicling the rise of rogue vigilante, the Ragman (Halt and Catch Fire's Joe Dinicol). In addition, '80s action star Dolph Lundgren has been added as a new Russian baddie who will be featured in this season's flashback arc.

Also starring fan favorites Emily Bett Rickards, Willa Holland, David Ramsey, and Paul Blackthorne, "Arrow: Season 5" is slated to premiere next week on The CW, beginning Wednesday, October 5.

synopsis:
After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. He returned home to Starling City, bent on righting the wrongs of his family and fighting injustice. To do this, he creates the persona of Arrow -- a vigilante -- and allies himself with former military man John Diggle (David Ramsey) and computer science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), while keeping his secret from those closest to him...
