Recent Oscar-winner and longtime environmentalist Leonardo DiCaprio is tackling the issue of climate change for a new National Geographic documentary "Before the Flood."

Produced by DiCaprio under his Appian Way production banner and directed by actor/filmmaker Fisher Stevens (The Cove), the documentary sees the 41-year-old actor and well-known environmental activist traveling to different parts of the world to get an up-close and first-hand look at the adverse effects of climate change.

"The more I learn about this issue and everything that contributes to the problem, the more I realize how much I don't know," DiCaprio says in the above trailer. "I just want to know how far we've gone and if there's anything we can do to stop it."

"Before the Flood" will receive a limited theatrical release on October 21. It will also have a worldwide premiere on the National Geographic Channel on Sunday, October 30.
