If you have the power to run as fast as Barry Allen (aka The Flash), you're gonna have to deal with a lot of unforeseeable drawbacks. Sure, protecting your world from an evil speedster who came from another dimension is a prime example of that. But Barry will have to work out another whopper of a problem in the much-anticipated third season of CW's hit show "The Flash."

Check out a new 'Season 3" trailer for the DC Comics-based superhero series, which picks up immediately after the events of the Season 2 finale, and shows Barry (played by Grant Gustin) realizing he has unknowingly created an alternate timeline. It's a world that looks like his own, but at closer examination, they're many, many discrepancies.

For instance, there's a "Kid Flash" (Keiynan Lonsdale)! Barry's meta-human-fighting teammates, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), absolutely have no clue who he is -- or each other for that matter. And Barry's lifelong crush and closest friend, Iris West (Candice Patton), barely remembers him: "I've seen you before, haven't I? … Gary, right?!"

"The Flash: Season 3" is set to run on Tuesday, October 4.

synopsis:
After a particle accelerator causes a freak storm, CSI Investigator Barry Allen is struck by lightning and falls into a coma. Months later he awakens with the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel. Though initially excited by his newfound powers, Barry is shocked to discover he is not the only “meta-human” who was created in the wake of the accelerator explosion – and not everyone is using their new powers for good. Barry partners with S.T.A.R. Labs and dedicates his life to protect the innocent. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won’t be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become ... The Flash.
