Filmmaker/actor Mark Duplass (The League) and recent Emmy winner Sarah Paulson (The People v. O.J. Simpson) star as two former high-school "lovebirds" who reunite unexpectedly after 20 years in the newly released trailer for "Blue Jay."

In this black-and-white, romantic two-character drama, Duplass plays Jim, a laidback drywall contractor who, while standing in the aisle of a local grocery store, bumps into his old, carefree girlfriend, Amanda (Paulson), who he hasn't seen since high school.

Looking to get reacquainted, Jim and Amanda decide to spend the rest of the day together. It doesn't take long before they're laughing, drinking, dancing, and acting like a couple of "deeply uncool" high-school teens -- it's just like old times.

Alex Lehmann, a camera operator on Duplass' FX comedy series "The League," makes his feature directorial debut with "Blue Jay," which was written and produced by Duplass.

"Blue Jay" just premiered a week ago at the Toronto International Film Festival to mostly positive reviews. The film will open in select theaters on October 7 and on VOD October 11 with a Netflix release to follow as part of the Duplass Brothers' deal with the streaming company.
