Get lost in a sea of gorgeous imagery. Here's the newly released U.S. trailer for "The Red Turtle," an animated adventure fable, which is presented to you by Studio Ghibli, the people behind some of the most celebrated animated movies in history (Spirited Away, Ponyo, and The Wind Rises).

Centering on a shipwrecked man on a deserted island and his unique relationship with a strange red turtle, the poetic, dialogue-less film is the feature debut of acclaimed Dutch animator Michael Dudok de Wit, who previously directed the Oscar-winning animated short "Father and Daughter" and the Oscar-nominated animated short "The Monk and the Fish."

Co-produced by Studio Ghibli, "The Red Turtle" has received strong reviews and recently nabbed a Special Jury Prize at this year's Cannes Film Festival. The film is slated for a January 20, 2017 release in New York and Los Angeles.

synopsis:
Through the story of a man shipwrecked on a tropical island inhabited by turtles, crabs and birds, The Red Turtle recounts the milestones in the life of a human being.
