Sony has released the first teaser for "Smurfs: The Lost Village," a new, fully CG animated Smurfs movie and the latest 3D entry in the family-friendly franchise that's based on the cartoon characters by Belgian comic strip artist Peyo.
Directed by animation helmer Kelly Asbury (Shrek 2, Gnomeo & Juliet) and featuring a voice cast that includes pop-singer Demi Lovato (as Smurfette), Rainn Wilson (as Gargamel), Joe Manganiello (as Hefty), Jack McBrayer (as Clumsy), Danny Pudi (as Brainy) with Mandy Patinkin (as Papa Smurf), "Smurfs: The Lost Village" will open everywhere early next year on April 7, 2017.

In this fully animated, all-new take on the Smurfs, a mysterious map sets Smurfette and her best friends Brainy, Clumsy and Hefty on an exciting and thrilling race through the Forbidden Forest filled with magical creatures to find a mysterious lost village before the evil wizard Gargamel does.
