Director Lew Lehman's obscure 1981 Canadian horror flick "The Pit," about a creepy 12-year-old boy (Sammy Snyders) who, under the orders of his evil teddy bear doll, lures random people to an enormous mysterious hole in the woods, where flesh-munching trolls are waiting to be fed, is coming back to theaters in a new 2K restoration this October.

U.S. specialty distributor Kino Lorber is planning to re-release "The Pit" in select cities across the country throughout this Halloween season, starting on September 30 through October 31. (Exact theater locations can be found at the film's official site at www.kinolorber.com)

The film is a newly discovered cult classic that unquestionably falls under the "it's so bad, it's good" category. Check out the awesomely cheesetastic re-release trailer, above.

synopsis:
Twelve-year-old Jamie is one creepy kid. He has a perverse obsession with sex, his only friend is an evil teddy bear, and he's the only one who knows about the hole in the forest where he feeds raw meat to a ravenous pack of mutant troglodytes. But Jamie will teach them all a lesson, the kids who teased him, the mean old lady down the street, even his pretty new babysitter. Soon they -- and his entire town -- will face the flesh-eating horror of The Pit! This Canuxploitation horror classic is coming soon in a new 2K restoration!
