Syfy has released a trailer for "Channel Zero," a new limited anthology series based on the user-generated horror stories known on the internet as "creepypasta."

Subtitled as "Candle Cove," the first six-episode season stars Paul Schneider (TV's Parks and Recs, Cafe Society) as an emotionally damaged child psychologist who returns to his home town to investigate the decades-old disappearance of his twin brother and its possible connection to a 1980s local children's TV show that featured a creepy pirate doll.

Natalie Brown (The Strain), Fiona Shaw (True Blood, Harry Potter), Luisa D'Oliveira (The 100), and Shaun Benson (ARQ) also star in the series, which hails from creator/writer Nick Antosca (The Forest, TV's Hannibal) and producer Max Landis (Chronicle, Victor Frankenstein).

Craig William Macneill, who directed the 2015 indie horror "The Boy" with Rainn Wilson and David Morse, is helming all six episodes of the first season, which is scheduled to air on the Syfy network beginning Tuesday, October 11.

synopsis:
The first season of this limited horror anthology series, subtitled "Candle Cove", centers on one man's obsessive recollections of a mysterious children's television program from the 1980s, and his ever-growing suspicions about the role it might have played in a series of nightmarish and deadly events from his childhood.
