A brand-new trailer has been released for "The Bye Bye Man," a supernatural horror flick that appears to be inspired by some of today's popular boogeymen tales.

The film, which stars Douglas Smith, Cressida Bonas, Lucien Laviscount with Carrie-Anne Moss and Faye Dunaway, follows a group of college friends as they find themselves targeted by a sinister phantom (played by famed creature performer Doug Jones; Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth) who seems to have the power to manipulate people's actions.

Set to open in theaters on January 13, 2017, "The Bye Bye Man" is directed by Stacy Title (1995's The Last Supper) and was written by the director's husband, Jonathan Penner, a former TV actor who had also appeared multiple times as a contestant on the reality series "Survivor."

synopsis:
When three college students move into an old house off campus, they unwittingly unleash a supernatural entity known as The Bye Bye Man, who comes to prey upon them once they discover his name. The friends must try to save each other, all the while keeping The Bye Bye Man's existence a secret to save others from the same deadly fate.
