In 2009, renowned fashion designer Tom Ford surprised everyone when he successfully broke into the film world with his critically acclaimed drama "A Single Man," in which Colin Firth earned his first Oscar nomination.

Though it's been seven years since his film debut, Ford has again demonstrated his filmmaking prowess as he makes his long-awaited sophomore effort with this year's festival hit "Nocturnal Animals," which recently nabbed the Grand Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival.

The film stars Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Shannon, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and a newly-released trailer is giving viewers the first peek at what could possibly be one of the year's best.

Based on the book "Tony and Susan" by Austin Wright, the stylish thriller sees Adams as Susan Morrow, a successful art gallery owner who's forced to reexamine her failed marriage when her ex-husband, Tony (Gyllenhaal), sends her the manuscript of his new salacious and incriminating novel.

Co-starring Andrea Riseborough, Armie Hammer, Michael Sheen, and Laura Linney, "Nocturnal Animals" is set to open in New York and Los Angeles on November 18. It will then expand to other cities on November 23 before going into wide release on December 9.
