Disney has a new mythic hero, and his name is "Maui." And he must go through a "whole ocean of bad" to save the people of the South Pacific.

Check out the full-length trailer for "Moana," Disney's new animated adventure musical starring the voice of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as Maui, who apparently prefers to be identified by his full title: "Maui, shape-shifter, demi-god of the wind and sea ... and hero of men."

The film, which is hailing from legendary Disney filmmakers Ron Clements and John Musker (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin), centers on a young Polynesian princess named "Moana" (voiced by 14-year-old Hawaiian newcomer Auli'i Cravalho) who persuades the reluctant Maui (Johnson) to accompany her on a dangerous mission through the South Pacific Ocean in order to save her people from a mythical monster.

Featuring original music by Tony Award winner and "Hamilton" creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, "Moana" will arrive in theaters this Thanksgiving, beginning November 23.

Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast South Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped -- and no one today knows why.

From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes "Moana," a sweeping, CG-animated adventure about a spirited teenager who sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and fulfill her ancestors' unfinished quest. During her journey, she meets the once-mighty demi-god Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), and together, they traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous fiery creatures and impossible odds.
