HBO has released a new full-length trailer for "Insecure," the new comedy series from writer/actress Issa Rae, the creator of the critically-acclaimed YouTube series "Awkward Black Girl."

Offering a fresh perspective on the social lives of modern-day African-American women, Rae plays a 30-something (and somewhat geeky) youth organizer, who tries to confront her personal insecurities as she breaks up with her long-time boyfriend and enters the L.A. dating scene for the first time since her 20s.

Former Comedy Central late-night host Larry Wilmore co-wrote the pilot episode with Rae. He is also serving as one of the executive producers on the eight-episode series, which also stars Yvonne Orji, Jay Ellis, Lisa Joyce, Catherine Curtin, Mason McCulley, and Neil Brown Jr.

"Insecure" is slated to premiere Sunday, October 9 on HBO.
