Horror filmmaker Mike Flanagan (Hush, Oculus) has turned a cheesy Hasbro board game into a new supernatural movie that may possibly scare the bejesus out of you.
Here's a new trailer for Flanagan's "Ouija: Origin of Evil," which features a young demon-possessed girl as she calmly describes all the terrifying stages of being strangled to death: "Oh, and the last thing you'll feel ... is cold. Goodnight Romeo."
The film takes place in 1965, Los Angeles and centers on a widowed single mother (played by Twilight's Elizabeth Reaser) who works from her home as a phony spiritualist. When she discovers that her not-so-phony ouija board has opened up a portal to the spirit world, her youngest daughter (Lulu Wilson; Deliver Us from Evil) becomes possessed by an evil entity. Now the girl is infatuated with death and strangulation. Eeek!
Also starring Henry Thomas (ET) as a Catholic priest and Annalise Basso (Captain Fantastic) as another daughter, "Ouija: Origin of Evil" opens October 21, just in time for Halloween.
