Are you in the mood for a dark, twisted, gross-out, and greasy comedy? Then look no further than "The Greasy Strangler." It's a cult movie in the making that will definitely divide audiences into two camps: those who absolutely hate it and those who didn't hate it that much.

Deliberately aimed to shock and disgust, the gonzo comedy is done in the irreverent styles of Tim & Eric and John Waters. It's set in a bizarre, surrealistic version of Los Angeles, where a man-child named "Big Brayden" (played by obscure comic actor Sky Elobar) starts to squabble with his crackpot father, "Big Ronnie" (Michael St. Michaels), for sleeping with his new Mexican girlfriend (Elizabeth De Razzo, of "Eastbound & Down").

But there's a twist! Big Ronnie turns out to be a local serial killer, who the media is calling "The Greasy Strangler."

Strangely enough, the film is produced by actor Elijah Wood and executive produced by director Ben Wheatley (High-Rise, Sightseers). The comedy is also the feature film debut of British filmmaker Jim Hosking (ABCs of Death 2), who, depending on your sensibilities, is either a director-to-watch or a director-to-avoid.

Hosking wrote the screenplay with Toby Harvard, who also co-wrote Hosking's ABCs of Death 2's horror segment, "G is for Grandad."

After premiering earlier this year at Sundance's Midnight section, "The Greasy Strangler" will be released in theaters and on VOD October 7. In the meantime, you can watch the NSFW red band trailer, above.

synopsis:
The Los Angeles-set tale follows Ronnie, a man who runs a Disco Walking tour along with his browbeaten son, Brayden. When a sexy, alluring woman comes to take the tour, it begins a competition between father and son for her attentions. It also signals the appearance of an oily, slimy inhuman maniac who stalks the streets at night and strangles the innocent, soon dubbed 'The Greasy Strangler.'
