Comic actor Josh Gad (Frozen, The Book of Mormon) provides the voice of the dog's inner thoughts. While the human cast includes Dennis Quaid, Britt Robertson, K.J. Apa, John Ortiz and Peggy Lipton.

Lasse Hallstrom, the two-time Oscar-nominated director of "The Cider House Rules" and "My Life as a Dog," and who previously helmed the acclaimed food-centric dramedy "The Hundred-Foot Journey" and the beloved cult remake "Hachi: A Dog's Tale," is helming the upcoming film, which is scheduled to open nationwide on January 27, 2017.
