Here's just another example that superhero movies have become a global business. Check out the new full-length, international trailer for the much-talked-about, Russian superhero spectacle "Guardians," which centers on four Russian super-humans, who are called upon to save their country from a diabolical supervillain and his evil army of mercenary soldiers. Think Fantastic Four meets The Avengers meets Timur Bekmambetov's Night Watch.

The cast includes Anton Pampushniy as a human/brown bear hybrid named "Arsus"; Sanzhar Madiev as a super-fast, circular blade-wielding warrior named "Khan"; Alina Lanina as an invisible woman named "Xenia," and Sebastien Sisak as a bearded shaman named "Ler," who can manipulate stone and rock.

"Guardians" is directed by Armenian filmmaker Sarik Andreasyan, who is perhaps best known in the States for directing the indie crime thriller "American Heist," which starred Adrien Brody, Hayden Christensen, and Jordana Brewster. The movie, which, as of yet, doesn't have a U.S. release date, will officially open in Russia on February 23, 2017.

synopsis:
Set during the Cold War, a secret organization named "Patriot" gathered a group of Soviet superheroes, altering and augmenting the DNA of four individuals, in order to defend the homeland from supernatural threats. The group includes representatives of the different nationalities of the Soviet Union, which each one of them have long been hiding their true identity. In hard times, they settled down to business and gather to defend their homeland.
