Sony Pictures Animation has teamed up with WWE Studios for what is possibly the strangest animated sequel in recent memory.
Check out the newly-released teaser trailer for "Surf's Up 2: WaveMania," which is the follow-up to the 2007 film about the adventures of a thrill-seeking surfing penguin, Cody Maverick, and his two best friends: Chicken Joe and Lani.
This time, however, the voice cast is primarily comprised of WWE Superstars, including John Cena, The Undertaker, and Triple H as members of a legendary surfing-penguin team known as "The Hang 5."
Also lending their voices are WWE CEO Vince McMahon and WWE Diva "Paige."
Marking the directorial debut of "Hotel Transylvania 2" storyboard artist Henry Yu, "Surf's Up 2" will be released in early 2017.
synopsis:
Cody Maverick, hungry for a new challenge, convinces an infamous big wave riding crew known as The Hang 5 -- voiced by WWE Superstars John Cena, The Undertaker, Triple H, WWE Diva Paige and Mr. McMahon -- to let him join them on their journey to a mysterious surf spot known as The Trenches, where legend has it, they'll find the biggest waves in the world. Cody soon discovers that the life he left behind might be more heroic than what any death-defying wave has to offer.
