Acclaimed British writer-director Andrea Arnold (Wuthering Heights, Fish Tank, Red Road) explores the grittier side of the American dream in the upcoming teen-runaway drama "American Honey."
The film, which took home this year's Cannes Jury Prize, stars newcomer Sasha Lane and Shia LaBeouf as two wandering delinquents who meet and fall in love as they travel across the American Midwest in search of a better future.
Also starring Riley Keough (Mad Max: Fury Road, TV's The Girlfriend Experience), "American Honey" is scheduled to be released in theaters on September 30. In the meantime, check out a new trailer, above.
synopsis:
Star (Sasha Lane), a teenage girl from a troubled home runs away with a travelling sales crew that drives across the American mid-west selling Magazine subscriptions door to door. Finding her feet in this gang of teenagers, one of whom is Jake (Shia LaBeouf), she soon gets into the group's lifestyle of hard partying, law-bending and young love.
