The Newsroom's Alison Pill plays an aspiring comic book artist while Mozart in the Jungle's Gael Garcia Bernal is her cartoon crush in the newly-released trailer for the mind-bending comedy "Zoom," which is helmed by Brazilian TV director Pedro Morelli.

The Canadian-Brazilian film, which also stars comic actor Tyler Labine (Tucker and Dale vs Evil), tells separate intertwining oddball stories set in separate oddball universes: one taking place in reality while the other ingrained in total fantasy.

Pill stars as Emma, an amateur cartoonist with an overactive imagination. Emma is working a menial job at a shady sex-doll warehouse, where she often fantasizes about the man of her dreams. He happens to be a very successful film director (played by a hand-drawn version of Garcia Bernal), who only exists within the pages of Emma's unfinished comic book. Things take a bizarre turn when Emma finds herself blurring reality with illustrated fiction as she tries to help her co-worker (Labine) turn a sex-doll into a drug mule for a local gangster.

Michael Eklund, Jason Priestley, and Brazilian actress Mariana Ximenes co-star in the film, which premiered to favorable reviews at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival. The movie is now slated for a theatrical and VOD release on September 2.
