"The Theory of Everything" actress Felicity Jones leads her own suicide squad in the first "Star Wars" stand-alone movie, "Rogue One." Check out a new international trailer (out of Japan), which features some additional footage of the imperial forces that the rebel spies will have to face in their top-secret mission.

Taking place before "A New Hope," the prequel spin-off will focus on a rogue task force gathered by the Rebellion to infiltrate the growing imperial armada and steal the top secret design plans for the Death Star. Also on board the mission impossible is a rebel Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), his loyal droid enforcer, K-2SO (Alan Tudyk), former Imperial pilot Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed), Clone Wars veteran Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker), and Chirrut, a blind spiritual warrior (Donnie Yen) and his scruffy-looking assassin partner, Baze (Jiang Wen).

Written by Chris Weitz ("Cinderella," "About a Boy") and Tony Gilroy (the "Bourne" films, "Michael Clayton") and directed by "Godzilla" helmer Gareth Edwards, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" will invade theaters worldwide on December 16th.

"Rogue One" tells the story of resistance fighters who have united to steal plans to the dreaded Death Star.
