added: Tue, Aug 9th '16

It was just a couple of weeks ago, during the San Diego Comic-Con, that fans were given an early peek at Netflix and Marvel's new superhero series "Luke Cage." But now the streaming company is giving viewers a much better look at the titular Harlem brawler with impenetrable skin.

Check out the full-length trailer for the upcoming 13-episode drama, the latest entry in Marvel's small-screen, street-level New York hero universe that focuses on gang-fighting vigilante Luke Cage, played by Mike Colter, who was previously introduced in an arc on last year's hit series "Jessica Jones."

Cheo Hodari Coker, the screenwriter of "Notorious" and producer of "Ray Donovan," is serving as showrunner on the action series, which also stars Mahershala Ali, Frankie Faison, Rosario Dawson, Alfre Woodard, Theo Rossi, and Frank Whaley.

Director Paul McGuigan, of "Victor Frankenstein" and "Push," will be kicking off things as he directs the first two episodes of the series, which is set to premiere on Friday, September 30, only on Netflix.

After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive who attempts to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But soon he is pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city -- forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.
