Imprisoned for most of their lives in a secret government laboratory, genetically-modified teenagers band together and try to fly the coop in the new trailer for "Maximum Ride."

The sci-fi action-adventure film, based on the best-selling series of young-adult books by prolific writer James Patterson, stars Allie Marie Evans (from the digital series "Vanity") as Max, a young girl whose DNA has been altered by scientists and now has the ability to sprout wings and fly.

Kept in captivity with fellow winged hostages and other young science experiments, Max devises a plan to escape, leading a small team to fight against a ruthless security squad that's entirely comprised of half-human, half-wolf soldiers.

Also starring Patrick Johnson, Lyliana Wray, Luke Gregory Crosby, Gavin Lewis, Tetona Jackson, Zayne Emory, Carrie Wampler, and Peter O'Brien, the film is executive produced by Youtube personality Jenna Marbles and directed by former storyboard artist-turned-helmer Jay Martin (7 Minutes).

"Maximum Ride" will be released on Digital HD August 30, and then on VOD September 30. While fans will be able to request theatrical screenings through the Tugg on-demand website (at tugg.com).
