Netflix has released a teaser trailer for "BLAME!," the streaming company's new, original Japanese anime movie that's set in a futuristic dystopian world where a human survivor named Killy attempts to save the last remaining humans from the threat of extinction.

The animated film, produced by Polygon Pictures, is based on the popular manga series of the same name by Japanese artist Tsutomu Nihei, the creator of the manga "Knights of Sidonia," which was also adapted into a Netflix series a few years ago.

Netflix plans to release "BLAME!" worldwide in 2017.

synopsis:
In a distant dystopian future that is wild and out of control, join Killy on a quest to reclaim a dwindling civilization from the brink of oblivion.
